Does anyone know how to change the headlight bulbs on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier ?

The owners manual says something about removing a clip that holds the turn signal assembly to the headlight assembly and then the headlight assembly will come out , I don't see any clip. Thanks for your help..Does anyone know how to change the headlight bulbs on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier ?Sorry, I'm not seeing anything about a clip myself.

For either the Headlamps or Front Park and Turn Signal Lamps

1. To remove the six plastic fasteners from the shield use a screwdriver to pull up the center of the fastener. Be careful not to break the fasteners that hold the shield in place.

2. Using a 13 mm socket, remove the two bolts from the headlamp. Pull the headlamp assembly up and toward the front of the vehicle to access the bulb assembly.

When replacing the driver檚 side headlamp, twist the bulb assembly one-eighth turn counterclockwise and remove it from the headlamp assembly. When replacing the passenger檚 side headlamp, twist the bulb assembly one-eighth turn clockwise and remove it from the headlamp assembly.

3. Disconnect the bulb base from the socket by lifting the plastic locking tab.

4. Remove the black collar by turning it counterclockwise.

5. Remove the bulb by pulling the bulb straight out.

6. Snap a new bulb into the socket.

7. Reinstall the bulb assembly by reversing Steps 1 through 3, making sure the lower leg of the headlamp bracket is properly seated into the wedge-shaped retainer.

Does anyone know how to change the headlight bulbs on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier ?Thanks for the pull up and out part....I couldn't get it out until I tried that. The manual gives you some hoopla about finding somekind of release with a screwdriver.

How to remove the turn signal lightbulb of a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt?

I know that removing a bulb from the headlight assembly is pretty much the same for most cars. But with the 05 Cobalt, I cannot reach the back of the headlight assembly to unscrew the bulb holder + bulb.

I figured that I may have to take the whole headlight assembly out before I can take the bulb out. I loosened the screws securing the headlight assy to the frame but I still cannot pull the light assy off.

Have a garage check it for you.2003 cavalier left turn signal blinking fast in front but nothing in rear.?You should inspect the socket more carefully, the ends inside can corrode. Try scrapping them clean, on both the bulb and socket. It would not hurt to test the bulb again to see if it is still good. You can also turn the signal on and with a tester see if you are getting current back there, if you use a light tester it will blink on and off. Just hook one end to ground and the other touch the terminal. You can get one pretty cheap at an auto store, in fact they may even come out and show you how to use it or test it for you.2003 cavalier left turn signal blinking fast in front but nothing in rear.?well, usually a fast-blinking light means it needs changed, however, you said you did that and it was fine but broke again....

sounds like you may have a short in that light.

take it to a mechanic and have them check the fuse for that light.

we have light fixtures in our house that will insist on blowing the bulb after only a month or so....it's the electrical connection, not the bulb itself.

this sounds like a similar thing...

good luck!2003 cavalier left turn signal blinking fast in front but nothing in rear.?When replacing a bulb do not touch with your hands, use a rag or something. The oils from your skin will cause it to break as soon as gets hot. Don't know if this applies to your situation now, but it could be useful in the future. I learned this after ruining a few bulbs (for my car).

How would I diagnose and change a burnt out light bulb (headlight/taillight) in my 1994 Crown Victoria?

My right turn signal lights up but does not blink. I have heard that this may be due to a burnt out light bulb.
