How to access rear turn signal bulb on a 97 cavalier?

I need to replace the rear turn signal bulb on a 97 cavalier. I couldn't find any screws to take off the len cover. I looked behind the trunk cover and found a hole with the wiring but I could not reach the bulb. I was wondering if there was a secret to changing the rear bulbs.
